Education

I began my education right here in the Oxford School System. I attended Oxford City Schools for grades K-12. I graduated from Oxford High School in 1997. In the fall of 1997, I started classes at Jacksonville State University. While studying to be a teacher, I worked within the Oxford School System as a substitute teacher and an aide in the after school program at Oxford Elementary. I was fortunate enough to complete both my practicum and student teaching at Oxford Elementary as well. I graduated from Jacksonville State University in December 2002 with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education.

Experience

I have always loved working with children. At age 16, I began working at City of Oxford Summer Day Camp. I served as head counselor/supervisor for two summers. I worked at Oxford Elementary School's Extended Day Program for three years and served as head supervisor for one year. I worked as a substitute teacher at O.E.S. for five years while attending J.S.U. The 2016-2017 school year will be my 15th year as a second grade teacher at O.E.S.
